You will join the localisation team as a Senior Localisation Manager to contribute to the growth of our consumer, partners and/or rider products. Localisation plays a necessary part at Deliveroo: we are responsible for making our product application relevant to our users in our non-English speaking markets. Localisation is part of the Experience team, working with our Product Designers, Content Designers and Researchers to localise our app into 8 languages. You will also work with multiple teams across the business to support the localisation of our marketing materials.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire life-cycle of multiple localisation projects.
- Manage all the project phases and predict the lifespan of all the stages of the project.
- Work with Product and Content teams to localise the app and website.
- Identify opportunities to improve localisation and internationalisation processes and localised content within the website and app
- Work with the Product Design and Content team to create guidelines and best practices for designing multi-language user experiences.
- Identify and analyse technical updates required to localise content on existing channels.
- Define internationalisation best practices and support engineers with implementation and enablement.
Leadership
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Experience team, and guide them through localisation and local market cultural challenges.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders across the business – in particular Marketing, Product, Operations and Sales.
- Educate important partners and the business on the importance of localisation, main challenges and ways to collaborate; define localisation best practices and assure adherence.
- Communicate with localisation specialists, language leads and local teams to ensure cross-team collaboration.
Team culture
- Contribute to the improvement of existing localisation processes and workflows to reduce effort and friction for stakeholders.
- Play an active role, together with the other Localisation Managers in the team, in building and growing the localisation discipline.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience working with a versatile team to localise outstanding content across a variety of platforms, apps and products.
- Understanding of the challenges involved in software localisation, marketing adaptation, and stakeholder management.
- Data-driven approach to localisation.
- Research and make recommendations based on findings.
- An excellent understanding of localisation and cultural differences.
- Experience with TMS and CAT tools (e.g. Memsource, Phrase, Smartling…).
